On Sunday, November 24th, the rescheduled WA Day Festival will showcase the state’s largest and free drone light show, fireworks, live music, and so much more. The event follows the cancellation of the WA Day Festival in June.
Carnival rides, food trucks, a drone show, and fireworks
The family-friendly festival will feature a range of entertainment and attractions, including free carnival rides, food trucks, a drone light show, and a spectacular fireworks display.
With plenty to do and see, festival goers are encouraged to take advantage of the free public transport available to Burswood Park as part of Fare Free Sundays for all SmartRider holders.
Together with RTRFM, the celebration will feature West Australian icons, Eskimo Joe, alongside Great Gable, Noah Dillon, Maatakitj, Angie Colman, and Anna Schneider.
“As a local and independent community radio station, it’s been a privilege for RTRFM to curate an all-West Australian line-up headlined by Eskimo Joe, ” RTRFM General Manager Simon Miraudo said.
The return of the now iconic drone show will light both the night sky and the audience’s imaginations, with 500 drones showcasing images and activities from around the state. Set to a WA-themed musical score, this is one show not to miss.
Celebrating all thing’s WA
Tasked with promoting excellence and achievement by Western Australians in all fields of endeavour and encouraging pride in all things Western Australian, as well as organising WA Day celebrations, Celebrate WA Chairman Scott Jones said the festival provided an essential opportunity for the community to come together, reflect on WA’s rich history, and encourage civic pride, and family-friendly fun.
“The festival celebrates our community spirit and local businesses, welcoming families to join the festivities and share in our pride for Western Australia.”
“With winter far behind us this November, we anticipate a vibrant turnout, inviting all Western Australians to partake in the essence of our State — what a great way to celebrate the start of summer. Accessibility is key, with free public transport and entry ensuring inclusivity for all,” he said.
