Yagan Square will transform into a Fairytale Wonderland as part of the 2024 Telethon Family Festival taking place across the Perth CBD on Sunday, October 20th. Building on the success of previous years, the event marks the third consecutive year of Yagan Square’s involvement as a major location for the festival.
Running from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, the Fairytale Wonderland will feature activities and performances inspired by classic fairytale stories, including Alice in Wonderland potion making, a Peter Pan treasure hunt, and a Cinderella silent disco. Other highlights will include a real-life mermaid/merman show and mascot dance competition with Fat Cat and Little Telethon Stars.
Yagan Square’s future neighbours — the new Edith Cowan University City campus — will also bring energy and excitement to the day, with performances from WAAPA students and alumni, a 360-video activation, and a chill-out zone for families to unwind and have a break from the energy of the day.
“Telethon is a WA icon — one of the great institutions of this state — and ensures some of the most vulnerable children in our community get the support they need,” Lands Minister John Carey said.
“Building on the success of previous years, it’s brilliant to bring the 2024 Telethon Family Festival which will be a Fairytale Wonderland to Yagan Square — providing inclusive and family-friendly activities for everyone.”
