Shake off those post-Winter blues at the Perth Hills Spring Festival this October and make the most of all that this stunning region has to offer.

As well as spectacular scenery, tempting wineries, boutique shopping and cafés aplenty, every weekend of October, Kalamunda will be filled with a host of events and activities for the Perth Hills Spring Festival.

Just a short drive (but a whole world) away, Kalamunda is ‘painting the town yellow’ to celebrate the arrival of Spring and extending an open invitation to visitors to come and join in the fun.

Bringing together current popular events such as the ‘Kalamunda Open Studios’, the ‘Kalamunda Markets’ and ‘The Strawberry Fayre’ with new and exciting additions for 2016, the Spring Festival promises to be fun for all ages.

So whatever you’re interested in: food, wine, markets, music, gardening, photography, art or walking – the Perth Hills Spring Festival has it all.

Blossom Walks & Orchard Tours [Core Cider House] and Sunday Sessions, Core Cider House

Adults and kids will enjoy a fully guided ½ hour walk of the apple orchards to enjoy the spring blossoms up close. Don’t forget to take your cameras! Adults: $8 (payable on the day). Kids under 12: FREE. All children must be supervised by an adult on the walk. Follow up with a visit to the cider house for a coffee or hot mulled cider and apple pie, fresh apple juice, or to sample some of our delicious ciders. Lunch available from 11am.

Sunday Session Core Cider House

Relax on the lawn with a cider or two, whilst listening to a weekly array of musicians from 2pm. Book early for lunch on the deck to avoid disappointment. An alternative menu will be provided for the Cider Garden and ‘the Green’ lawn area.

Kalamunda Markets

Buy direct from the farmers, growers or producers in the Perth hills. The market features a wide array of produce from seasonal fruit and veg, meat, eggs, cheeses, juices, tea / coffee, oil, marinades, chutneys and a great range of food stalls. Relax amongst the stalls, stroll the shops of Kalamunda and listen to the local entertainment.

Kalamunda Village Markets

Boasting over 200 stalls, the Kalamunda Village Markets is one of the largest craft and artisan markets in WA. Offering beautifully handcrafted products and local produce, the markets is a great day out. Complete your day with a drive round the local wineries or sample some of the finest food around at one of Kalamunda’s popular cafes.

Kalamunda Night Market

Join the carnival atmosphere and hungry crowds as the Kalamunda Night Markets return for the summer season. Featuring food from around the world, local produce and stalls to browse.

Perth Observatory Night Tour

Experience our amazing night sky through our wide range of telescopes at our sky viewing nights. Our Volunteers will take you on a grand tour of the Southern Hemisphere’s sky with a wide range of targets including Nebulas, planets, dying stars, and enormous star clusters.

You will also be able to browse our museum and see historical instruments, our meteorite exhibit, astrophotographs & artwork, and admire the beauty of the Atlas Coelestis, the first Star Atlas ever printed in 1729 from the work of John Flamsteed, the First Astronomer Royal at the Greenwich Observatory in Great Britain.

Kalamunda Open Studios

Professional artists open their studios to the public for conversation, information and art sales. Kalamunda has a very large and diverse population of artists who enjoy the lifestyle and find inspiration for their work in this creative community and Spring is a fantastic time to visit this beautiful area.

The session will also feature free healthy snacks, wood craft activities and a discovering dirt workshops. Ideal for children aged 5-15 with no registration required.

Outdoor Movie Nights

To celebrate the arrival of Spring, the Shire of Kalamunda is hosting two outdoor movie sessions in Stirk Park. Grab a beanbag or bring a chair and hunker down to watch a couple of feel-good movies. Food available on site and on Friday from the nearby night market.
