The placeNASA Astronaut John Glenn called “city of lights” in 1962, is enjoying an out-of-this world experience this weekend.
Many of you have been looking up to the heavens over the last few days, as the International Space Station makes some spectacular evening flyovers.
On Thursday night, the Perth ISS flyover became a huge event. Thousands shared our posts on Facebook and Twitter, reaching over 450,000 people in Western Australia.
Again the ISS flew over the city, bright and fast, on Friday night. Thousands again were ready for the flyover, at 7.30 and 9pm. Sighting opportunities are also happening Saturday and Sunday.
Many people told us that they had seen the Perth ISS flyover with their family members and children, and thanked us for the literal ‘heads up.’
The Facebook page of the Perth Observatory experienced similar feel good feedback.
The flyover was so popular, news website PerthNow picked up on the story, however they appear to have incorrectly reported important details about the event.
