Perth to London flights almost here

Non-stop flights from Perth to London are almost here, with Qantas unveiling their badass new long-hail aircraft this week in Sydney – the Dreamliner.

The new Boeing 787 Dreamliners will be delivered to Qantas in October 2017, with the Australian airline keen to put some of the fleet on a Perth to London loop.

The proposed flights will completely change tourism and travel in Australia, Qantas believes, transforming the way we move around the world and offering passengers the a smooth passage between Europe and Australia.

Flights here to there will be around 19-hours, sources said, making the Perth to London leg the longest flight in the world.

Qantas CEO Alan Joyce told media this week his team was still in negotiations with Perth Airport and the Western Australian government about the Perth to London direct flights, with an agreement still under negotiation – although he signalled the deal might not go ahead.

“We are still in the midst of discussions and there is always to-ing and fro-ing on commercial discussions, but it’s such a great opportunity for Western Australia it would be a shame if we couldn’t close a deal,” he said.

“It’s so game-changing because Australia has never been connected with Europe with a regular passenger service,” Joyce said.

“This aircraft allows us to fly routes that we could only imagine in the past,” Mr Joyce said. “It allows us to fly from Perth to London, from Sydney to Chicago or Melbourne to Dallas.
