Construction is underway on Perth’s most exciting attraction for the Summer – Xscape at the City pop-up waterpark.

Previously we had reported on the proposal for the Perth pop-up waterpark and now more than 50 people are working on site to ensure the park is ready to open late November in what is a mammoth logistical task for Australia’s first pop-up waterpark.

xscape-waterpark-perthThe park, which is privately funded, will utilise a custom-engineered, world-class water filtration system that will recycle and reuse water to minimise wastage. The system has been designed to Department of Health standards and will turn over water every 90 minutes.

Commuters driving along Graham Farmer Freeway in Burswood will now be able to see scaffolding on the Belmont Park site of what will be the main attraction, a 23m high, dual-lane inflatable racer slide called The Drop, and get an appreciation of its height, which is 14 flights of stairs tall.

Xscape at the City Director Douglas Campbell says he is confident this is the world’s tallest inflatable water slide.

“We will be inviting a representative from the Guinness Book of Records to confirm this once the park is up and running,” Campbell said.

“We’re on track with the build and can’t wait to welcome families and people of all ages through our gates in just a few weeks.”

Other attractions include a four lane 16m high slide called The Waterfall, an 8m high dual lane slide called The Cliff, a 25m x 25m pool and a ‘Dinosaur’ themed self-contained water play pool comprising of six child sized individual slides.

Xscape at the City will also feature dry attractions including Australia’s longest inflatable obstacle course (65m long x 8m wide) and 18 trampolines plus a separate ‘under 5’ children’s play area with small toys and activities. Both are completely under shade.

Entry to the park for spectators will be just $4 with $2 from every spectator entry donated to Telethon 2016. Children under 5 years will be free and for anyone aged 5 and over, entry to the park with all day rides will cost $32.50.

Further information is now available through the Xscape at the City website: www.excapeatthecity.com.au

The Park’s opening date will be announced shortly – keep an eye on the website for details.
