Discover The Greenhouse on St Georges Terrace, in the heart of the business district.

Head right upstairs to the signature garden balcony, where you’ll get a great view of surrounding office buildings and immerse yourself in the city sounds.

Enjoy a drink on the green turf, surrounded by vines and garden shrubs.

Grab a cold cocktail, boutique beer or a cider to cool down and lay low as the city bustles around. Head downstairs, or to the terrace for a restaurant meal.

The Aviary

Some afternoons and evenings, as you exit to the ground level from Perth’s bustling underground train station, you’ll hear a bass noise coming from the upper floors.

What you’re hearing is probably the DJ at The Aviary Rooftop Bar upstairs.

If you’ve never been, you’ll take a while to discover the stairs.

Once you do, you’ll find Perth’s most famous rooftop bar and restaurants.

An easy to stay, meet friends, for half a day.

Take a few steps off Murray Street down Prince Lane, you’ll enter a door and walk up a steep flight of stares to one of Perth’s smallest, hidden and original rooftop bars.

Discover funky color schemes, pot plant trees, restaurant tables and a balcony allowing you to see right down the street – a great view of Perth central-business office towers and random activity.

An open-air barbeque is often roaring at The Conservatory, cooking a variety of gourmet meals.

Belgian Beer Cafe

beercafe

The most famous of Perth’s beer venues, expect the best European brews on tap or by the bottle, in a variety of traditional glassware.

Hidden at the back of the Belgian Beer Cafe, I found fellow beer lovers chatting away the afternoon and evening.

When you arrive, head to the back, walking past the perfectly placed line of flowerpots on the walls – leading you to more amber-ale at the beer garden.

Hidden away in a part of Perth many forget about, The Royal on the Waterfront is the perfect little escape from the city streets.

Hidden down at Claisebrook Cove, this pub and restaurant is a tranquil area, a short walk from the east end of the city.

You might like to arrive by Cat Bus or by train, just 5-minutes walk from the station.

Open from breakfast to the evening, The Partisan is another hidden restaurant on the waterfront tucked into Claisebrook Cove.

You’ll feel a strong southern Europe vibe here.

This Mediterranean inspired restaurant offers a wonderful menu with food, wine, beer and cocktails from Spain, France and Italy.

Chill out for hours, and invite your friends.

I would suggest ‘The Partisan’ is one of Perth’s most underrated venues.

Lamont’s Bishops House

Lamonts

This heritage listed, Victorian Georgian style venue is an almost-secret, tucked away beauty, at the west end of Perth’s business district between the Mounts Bay Road and Spring Street.

With an extensive history dating back to 1859, the building hosts a popular a la carte and tapas restaurant run by Kate Lamont called Lamont’s Bishops House.

Of course, expect a plentiful selection of bottles from Lamont’s Winery.

Ask for a table on the old verandah, with views to the stunning, lush gardens, as lanterns light your spot.

Naturally, the building also hosts beautiful weddings and high-end business functions.
