Perth Zoo Live on Facebook.
The Perth Zoo is making sure you’re not missing out on encounters with your favourite animals – even if (for now at least) it’s virtual.
You can follow along on the Perth Zoo Facebook page to get notifications when they go live from inside the zoo – which is currently closed.
The schedule depends on keeper availability and also the animals, but they are generally hosting one Facebook live per week.
Bringing the Perth Zoo’s audience current updates keeps them connected to the Zoo so they’re excited to visit when the time is right. They have live videos, keeper Q&A’s, behind the scenes imagery and plenty of general Zoo updates, many featuring some new zoo babies.
Memphis eats all the snacks
The most recent one is of resident rhino Memphis – who munches some celery live while we get the low-down from keeper Kaelene.
The keepers answer questions sent in via the comment section and there was a lot of great ones in this episode from curious children and adults alike.
Memphis is a 32 year old white rhino who came to Perth Zoo from Memphis, Tennessee (hence the name). He loves grazing on greens, and is seen in this live episode munching on one of his fav snacks.
This over 2 tonne hunk-a hunk-a burnin’ love is so gentle, and loves getting a tummy rub!
