Competitions are a great way to increase awareness and recognition around your brand; generate new customer leads & email sign-ups; and create PR opportunities for your business. Running a competition with a low barrier to entry will allow many people to easily engage with your brand and make it more likely they will give you their contact details – which you can use for future marketing activities. Running a user-generated content competition, such as a photo or video contest, gets your audience doing the leg work by providing their content, but also gets them invested in your brand. And, if you have an interesting enough competition and the content your users generate or your brand can curate is media worthy, you may just score yourself a whole heap of free publicity.
