Where are the best spots to take in the 2020 City of Perth Australia Day Skyworks?

There are many locations with spectacular views to enjoy the 2020 Skyworks. If you aren’t one of the lucky few who can take in the Skyworks from a CBD building here are some options for you.

Swan River

The best seat in the house is of course on the Swan River. Be sure to stay within the allocated spectator vessel areas.

For full information on Swan River water regulations during the Sky show please visit Department of Transport.

Langley Park

Located on the northern side of the Swan River, Langley Park and it’s wide-open spaces is the place to be on Australia Day with family fun galore in the Lotterywest Entertainment Zone plus Perth’s best views of the fireworks.

Make sure to get down early as all the fun kicks off at 3pm.

Supreme Court Gardens

To the western side of Langley Park is Supreme Court Gardens, the location for 2020’s indigenous Birak Concert, a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and communities, experienced through music, dance, art and food.

Sir James Mitchel Park, South Perth

On the river’s south side, Sir James Mitchel Park is where you will find the City of South Perth’s Celebration Zone featuring packed with free activities, rides and entertainment for all ages.

Kings Park and Botanic Gardens

Kings Park’s stunning location overlooks Perth City and the Swan River, which makes for a popular location to set up a picnic with friends and family to watch the Skyworks show which starts at 8pm.

You can watch the Skyworks from the highest vantage point (unless you are in a CBD building) at Kings Park.

It’s advised to get there as early as 2pm to ensure a perfect spot on the grass.

Elizabeth Quay

While some of the new hotel high-rise might block some of the fireworks, Elizabeth Quay will definitely provide some great views of the fireworks lighting up the sky over the river.

The best part though is being right near the train station for easier access to get home.
