Footage Details:

  • The footage was taken just before 6PM (5:56PM 31-03-2019)
  • Location – 6miles out from Swanbourne Beach
  • The fishing boat is 27ft in length

The First White pointer (approx. 3m in length) showed at around 5:45pm, and circled the boat five or six times.

Bruce (as they affectionately nicknamed the shark) wasn’t aggressive at all, but was testing the structural intergirty of the boat giving the boat a nudge (as seen in footage) while coming in for a closer inspection.

The second white pointer (approx. 1.5m in length), (roughly 15mins after the footage) took Adrian’s line unknowing to him at the time, however after the shark rose to the surface the young shark made quick work of the line slicing through the braided line like a hot knife through butter.

It was interesting to note merely minutes before the footage a few of the fisherman were thinking about jumping in for a quick dip to cool down.
