Thieves Collection has been named a Global Finalist for Best Grain Whisky at the World Whiskies Awards 2026 in London, after its Bourbon-style whisky claimed both a Gold Medal and the category win — putting a Western Australian distillery in contention for the “World’s Best” title, to be announced at The Waldorf in London next week.
The spirit is made at the Fremantle distillery from locally sourced ingredients and aged in premium barrels along the WA coast. Its flavour profile runs to oak, warm spice, caramel, and vanilla — a combination that has been drawing attention from high-end resorts, restaurants, and bars internationally.

Claiming both the Gold Medal and the category win for Best Grain Whisky puts Thieves Collection’s Bourbon-style expression among the top-ranked whiskies on the planet in its class. The “World’s Best” announcement on March 25th will determine whether a Fremantle distillery walks away with the ultimate title.
