The United Cup international tennis tournament will return to Perth for a fourth consecutive summer from Friday, January 2nd, at RAC Arena.
The mixed-team tournament will open its 2026 season in Perth before moving east for the Final, drawing thousands of fans and the sport’s top-ranked players back to the city.
The United Cup will feature eighteen countries competing across singles and mixed doubles, with teams battling for a share of $17 million in prize money and 500 ATP and WTA ranking points. Perth will host the tournament’s opening sessions and two quarterfinal matches.
Tourism Minister Reece Whitby said, “This fantastic event will showcase some of the world’s best tennis players, drawing thousands of spectators to witness the action and adding millions of dollars into WA as part of our economic diversification strategy during the holiday season.”
“It’s also a great opportunity to leverage the global profile of players competing in Perth, promoting WA as a must-visit destination to their millions of followers and shining an international spotlight on our extraordinary State.”
Poland first to the court
Poland is the first country confirmed for 2026, bringing Women’s World Number Two and six-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek alongside former Men’s World Number Six Hubert Hurkacz. Their inclusion sets a high net for what’s shaping up to be another thrilling summer of tennis in Perth.
Swiatek lifted her fourth Roland Garros title last year, and her first Wimbledon title earlier this year.
A rally of tennis talent in Perth
The United Cup has quickly become a highlight of Perth’s summer calendar. In 2023, fans watched Serbia’s Novak Djokovic dominate on the local court, while in 2024, Team USA’s Coco Gauff and Taylor Fritz went on to win the championship after rallying Perth audiences.
Beyond the court, the Perth CBD will come alive with a dedicated fan zone outside RAC Arena. The precinct will feature interactive tennis games, pop-up experiences, and family-friendly activities throughout the tournament week — a showcase of the city’s summer spirit and love of live sport.
Tourism Minister Reece Whitby said the United Cup would be “a sensational start” to the 2026 events calendar, bringing global attention and millions in visitor spending.
