Morley Galleria used to be one of Perth’s busiest shopping centres, but in recent years it has struggled to keep pace with the redevelopments at Westfield Carousel and Karrinyup. Proposals to upgrade the centre have been floated since the mid-2010s, but repeated delays left the precinct feeling tired and out of step with its rivals, frustrating locals who live in Morley and surrounds.

Vicinity Centres has now confirmed the long-awaited works will begin in September this year. The project will overhaul the fashion and lifestyle malls across two levels, introduce nearly 100 new tenancies, and deliver a major upgrade to Centre Court with new casual dining and ambience improvements.
A key feature will be The Terrace, an open-air dining precinct designed to bring people together in a more contemporary setting. Plans also include an expanded entertainment and lifestyle offering, with immersive spaces aimed at creating a destination beyond retail.

Vicinity Project Director James Fudge said, “This next stage of Galleria’s transformation is about creating a destination that truly reflects the lifestyle and expectations of our community. We’re excited to deliver revitalised fashion and lifestyle malls, new entertainment experiences, and a fresh retail mix that will bring renewed energy and connection to the heart of Perth’s north east.”

Early works are already underway, with main construction to commence in September. The redevelopment is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, repositioning Galleria as a modern retail and lifestyle hub for Morley and the broader north-east corridor.
