Perth’s Australia’s Day Skyworks show approved to go ahead in 2021.

Update 14/11/20: Perth Skyworks 2021 has now been cancelled

After an initial call to cancel WA’s biggest event amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Perth’s Australia Day Skyworks has been confirmed for 2021.

Following the backing of Mark McGowan, the City of Perth commissioners have voted unanimously in favour of the event which attracted 250,000+ earlier this year.

If circumstances change and COVID-19 increases within the WA community and social distancing restrictions are again required, City of Perth has suggested they will need to reconsider going ahead with any major events, including Skyworks.

The City of Perth has also confirmed further major Perth events with a series of Christmas concerts in Forrest Place, as well as New Year’s Eve event in Northbridge.

The confirmation of these events is also off the back of numerous major festival announcements over the past few days with Wine Machine in the Swan Valley and Oktoberfest In The Gardens at Langley Park.

So while Victoria is seeing a second spike in COVID-19 cases, Western Australia is planning for life after COVID-19 with the promotion or marquee events.
