The WA government has secured Perth as the host city for the 2022 Suncorp Super Netball League Grand Final.

The netball showdown will take place on July 3rd at the RAC Arena on July 3rd featuring WA’s own West Coast Fever, who is currently second on the ladder and will be contending for a spot in the Grand Final over the coming weeks.

Australia’s national netball team, the Australian Diamonds, will also be in Perth from July for a training camp ahead of the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

WA continues to be a powerhouse of the sporting community, with four massive sporting events coming up this year.

“We’ve got the State of Origin on June 26, the Wallabies against England on July 2, the Suncorp Super Netball League Grand Final on July 3 and then the English Premier League blockbuster double header on July 22 and 23,” says Sport and Recreation Minister David Templeman.

Eye on the prize

For the first time in the league’s history, prize money will be up for grabs with $100,000 for first place and $25,000 for second.

“The big sporting hits just keep on coming for WA,” says Tourism Minister Roger Cook.

Netball is the biggest participation sport for Australian girls, with over one-million athletes playing across the country.

Netball Australia CEO Kelly Ryan says the prize money will provide a significant financial boost to both Grand Final teams.

“This will allow the teams to invest in growth and engagement activities across the broader community,” she says.

How to watch

If you’re tuning in you can catch the game on Foxtel through Fox Sports, or on Kayo through Kayo Freebies.

Ticket dates will be announced shortly at supernetball.com.au.
