PSA: Road Closures Across Perth For Chevron City To Surf This Sunday

Perth’s biggest fun run returns this Sunday, bringing more than 20,000 runners and a wave of road closures across the CBD and western suburbs.

More than 20,000 runners will take to the streets this Sunday for the Chevron City to Surf for Activ, with significant road closures set to affect the Perth CBD and western suburbs throughout the day.

The annual community event will see major city streets closed from the early hours, with St Georges Terrace, William Street, Mill Street, Howard Street, and Sherwood Court all shut from 1:00 am until midday. In the western suburbs, Oceanic Drive between West Coast Highway and Challenger Parade, along with Fred Burton Way, will be closed from 4:00 am until 2:00 pm, affecting access to City Beach and Floreat.

Subiaco and Jolimont will also experience delays, with Hay Street between Thomas Street and Roberts and Railway Roads, and parts of Rockeby Road closed during the morning. In Jolimont, Hay Street between Roberts and Railway Roads, along with Underwood Avenue, will be closed from 8:00 am to midday.

Organisers say the closures are necessary to ensure the safety of participants, volunteers, and spectators, as well as the smooth operation of free public transport available to all involved.

Despite Perth’s recent wet weather, conditions on Sunday are tipped to be ideal, with a clear and sunny forecast. Temperatures are expected to climb to a pleasant 21°C after a chilly 7°C start.
