West Australians can visit the Perth Zoo for free this spring thanks to the state government’s new Perth Zoo Free Pass. The $6.2 million initiative provides an opportunity for people experiencing cost of living pressures to enjoy a free day out between September 9th and November 30th, 2024.
The Perth Zoo Free Pass
From today, every West Australian can claim up to four free tickets to Perth Zoo via the ServiceWA app. The pass can be used to admit both adults and kids, while also providing free public transport, saving families more than $110.00.
“With many Western Australian households feeling the cost of living pressures, we want to make sure families can still get out and about over the school holidays and throughout spring,” Premier Roger Cook said.
“The Perth Zoo Free Pass means WA families, no matter their financial situation, can enjoy one of our state’s top attractions.”
“There are plenty of free zookeeper talks, a brand-new adventure playground, opportunities for guided tours and bookable animal encounters — it’s a great day out with something for everyone,” Environment Minister Reece Whitby said.
The initiative builds on a range of cost of living measures
The Perth Zoo Free Pass builds on a range of cost of living measures delivered by the state government this year, including the WA Student Assistance Payment, the $700.00 Household Electricity Credit, free public transport for school students and on Sundays, and boosting Regional Pensioner Travel Card.
More than 800,000 people visited Perth Zoo last financial year — a new visitation record — underpinned by the Cook Government’s $51 million investment to upgrade facilities and attractions.
