How to enjoy the WA Day celebrations in Perth.

A public holiday? Yeah, we’re all for it – no questions asked. Even better when there’s an entire free festival hosting the celebrations.

WA Day takes place on the first Monday of June every year, and along with it comes the WA Day Festival; a whole day of entertainment, food, and fun for families, couples, friends and everyone in between.

So, what have they got in store for us this year?

What’s on at the WA Day Festival 2022

The 2022 WA Day festival promises to be ‘bigger and louder than ever’ featuring its first every drone light show at Burswood Park on Monday, June 6th.

They’ll have a stacked lineup of WA live music on stage, over 60 tasty food trucks, carnival rides, games for the little ones, a Gage Roads Bar, silent disco, and the big grand finale – a 500 strong drone light show to dazzle in the sky.

Throughout the day, West Australians can also immerse themselves in indigenous storytelling with Wadjuk Dreaming. An anthology of four animated short films in a bespoke dome will celebrate the Whadjuk Noongar history in WA, giving spectators an intimate ‘yarning round the campfire’ feel as they experience the wonder of the Dreamtime stories.
