WA records another zero new cases while other countries continue to spike.
While in Australia, and more specifically in Western Australia, we can be forgiven for thinking that COVID-19 is a thing of the past and that we are nearly through it (or the worst of it).
But, the scary thing to note is while we in Australia are lucky that we have been able to limit the severity and impact of COVID-19, other countries haven’t been so lucky as cases continue to rise worldwide.
COVID-19 Worldwide Total Cases

It took 3 months for the first 1,000,000 confirmed cases to be recorded… now in the last 8 days 1,000,000 new confirmed cases were recorded.
Just last Sunday WHO announced 183,000 new cases were confirmed in one day – the largest number of new cases reported in one day so far.
Now there are over 9,300,000 total confirmed cases of COVID-19 worldwide.
COVID-19 Worldwide Recovered Cases

Of those 9,300,000 individuals, 5,000,000 have recovered from COVID-19 and more alarmingly the death total is fast approaching 500,000 with 480,000 deaths now recorded from COVID-19. The U.S alone as recorded 120,000 deaths from COVID-19.
While other countries continue to manage the impact of COVID-19 and flatten the curve it is no wonder Australia has little interest in opening international borders until 2021.
In WA though we can look forward to further restrictions being eased as we enter Phase 4 of the WA COVID-19 Roadmap, it is important that we continue to use best practices to ensure we continue on our path to recovery.
