Pirate Life Perth, the largest brewpub in the CBD, is arriving just in time for summer, with the long-awaited venue opening its doors to the public on Thursday 28 October.
Pirate Life Perth the multi-venue site is a true Perth partnership, with Andy Freeman’s WA award-winning hospitality group operator, Sneakers & Jeans(S&J), teaming up with Pirate Life founders and proud West Aussies, Michael ‘MC’ Cameron, Jack Cameron, and Jared Proudfoot.
“The Pirate Lifeteam are pumped to be partnering with Andy and the Sneakers&Jeans crew for the opening of Pirate Life Perth,” says Pirate Life co-founder, MC.
“It’s been a long time in the making, but Red, Jack and myself feel immensely privileged to be returning to Perth to open a brewery in such an amazing location–right in the heart of the city. We couldn’t be prouder.”
Pirate Life Perth represents the most significant investment S&J has ever made and reflects the hospitality operator’s long-term commitment to Perth’s hospitality scene. S&J CEO AndyFreeman said despite facing challenges, every inch of the three-and-a-half-year project has been designed with customers in mind, raising the bar on what hospitality should deliver.
“This has been a labour of love through a really uncertain period,” says Freeman. “But we’ve just kept our focus on the end goal. We’ve remained committed on delivering something that is in keeping with Pirate Life and the high standards we set for ourselves at S&J.”
Stickman Tribe, founded by Perth-born Marcos Cain, has overseen the design of the new venue with S&J and Pirate Life to deliver a new standard in Perth hospitality.

Pirate Life Perth venue showcases an in-house brewery, casual fine-dining restaurant, two private dining rooms, and more.
The Bar
October’s Phase one opening will unveil 16 Pirate Life Perth taps in the brewery’s 15-metre main bar (with another20 taps still to come)– and the promise to be the only place in WApouringexclusive Perth and Port Adelaide Pirate Life brews.
TOMA
Casual fine dining restaurant, TOMA, headed up by renowned Head Chef, Charlie Vargas, will serve refined food inside a working brewery, using a custom-made bespoke parrilla Woodfired grill with a focus on locally-sourced produce.
Private Dining Rooms
Two exclusive private dining rooms – TANK and The Mezz – will also feature in the brewpub, where patrons can enjoy some of the most unique hospitality spaces in Perth.
The venue also boasts art murals and installs from local artists, with formerly Adelaide-based artist mike Maka creating the pièce de resistance–the peacock hung in the main bar being a fond salute to his iconic peacock mural that adorns the flagship Pirate Life Port Adelaide brewery.
Phase Two
Two more spaces will come to life within the brewery’s Phase two opening next month; connecting area and basement bar–both with unique personalities and offerings.
