Qantas has just announced it will operate direct flights between Australia and Chicago from next year.

While Perth isn’t on the direct fly list – those interested in getting to Chicago as quick as possible from Perth will first have to fly to Brisbane and then jump on a direct flight to Chicago.

Using Qantas’ 787 aircraft, the flights will fly direct from Brisbane with a flight time just short of 16.5 hours. Even with the flight to Brisbane from Perth, the journey will be far quicker than current options available via Sydney, Melbourne and Hong Kong starting from 26 hours for the one way trip.

The flights are set to take off in April 2020 – the schedule for Qantas Brisbane to Chicago flights is being finalised, with fares to be announced and available for sale soon.
