RIP Prince

Music legend Prince has died aged 57, his publicist announced around 1am Perth time, Friday April 22.

“Prince’s body was discovered at his Paisley Park compound in Minnesota early Thursday morning (US Time),” TMZ reported.

Perth fans of the music legend Prince were some of the last people in the world to see him perform in concert. He stopped in Perth for the first and last time just two months ago, in February 2016.

Prince had toured Australia with his Piano & A Microphone Tour. Perth’s show was his last on February 25th 2016.

The Perth Arena show was one of the most incredible music performances you could ever have witnessed.

“As he spoke the word “Perth”, it made the whole crowd swoon like a teenage fangirl,” PerthNow wrote.

“In pure Prince flamboyancy, the 57-year-old asked for a moment of “radio silence” because for the next 90 minutes, all anybody needed was the musical genius and his piano.

As his nimble and delicate fingers floated effortlessly across his piano keys, the melodic sounds Prince is known for filled the arena.”
