I must admit, I don’t always pay much attention to letterbox drops. Maybe just a casual glance, that’s it. But I was recently drawn to a cute little card I received for a relatively new local store called Arrival Hall, which claimed to “bring the world home” as a “coming together of beautiful design from around the world”. So I headed over to take a look.
What I found was a funky, multi-level space, presenting a wide range of stylish, modern home & lifestyle wares on the ground floor, with a cosy kitchenette and lounge area upstairs. The friendly owners, Lisa & Clem, devised the concept based on their passion for travel and discovering unique design. They regularly attend international trade fairs, and source their products from all over the world, especially northern Europe and Scandinavia. Arrival Hall opened several months ago, and has been steadily building its presence through social and print media, having already been featured in publications such as Style Seekers Perth and the Scoop Guide.
But as much as Lisa & Clem are about bringing products home, they are equally conscious about sending resources out to those in need, and this is reflected by the charity brands they stock, such as the “thankyou” body care range. They have also started partnering with Hope to the Nations, which has set up a community school in a poverty stricken region of Cambodia, with the aim of providing education to hundreds of underprivileged children. On weekends, Clem makes in-store coffees for customers in the lounge upstairs for a (gold-coin) donation, with proceeds going towards running the school.
Arrival Hall’s location in the converted old Boans Warehouse is part of an emerging section of redeveloped East Perth, with the Whipper Snapper Distillery and City Farm both just around the corner. Its stock varies all the time, as Lisa & Clem constantly work to bring the latest trends and innovations from the interior design and lifestyle market into Perth homes, both through their showroom and their new online shop.
It really is a fantastic, unique space, and a great small Perth business of interest to anyone looking to spruce up their home, or otherwise seeking design inspiration with a cosmopolitan twist, potentially over a cup of fresh coffee (their coffee often comes from Perth’s local Blacklist Coffee Roasters). Lisa & Clem are all about creating an entire experience for their patrons, and the creativity, care and thought that have gone into their project are clear to see. Arrival Hall makes a welcome addition to (East) Perth’s budding homewares & design scene, and is certainly worth checking out.
