Singapore is a success story much like Australia is. Except better.

The nation hasn’t had any community transmission since its lockdown in June last year.

Like Australia, it’s also opened up a travel bubble with a nearby neighbour – in its case Hong Kong.

And get this, people from low risk countries are able to travel to Singapore and quarantine for a few short hours before returning a negative test.

New Zealand, Taiwan, China and – you guessed it – Australia are included in that deal.

But there’s not yet official travel bubbles – like Australia has with New Zealand – in place.

Singapore has been flagged as the next country Australia could have a bubble with, and the Government flagged it was looking at this next step earlier this month.

Is Atlas the best bar in Singapore?

There is no denying that Singapore has some of the best bars in the world, however Atlas Bar might just be the best of the best in Singapore.

Firstly, let’s just take a minute to take this in.

The Art Deco-inspired bar features more than 1,300 types of gin in a 26-foot tower.

From London dry gins from as far back as 1910, or the best of modern craft gins from the far corners of the world – there is a gin for every taste, occasion and some. You are guaranteed to have a unique and no doubt your best gin experience at Atlas Bar.

Also not to be sneezed at, Atlas also have over 250 labels of champagne on offer as well with one of Asia’s great Champagne lists.

Federal Tourism Minister Dan Tehan said Singapore was the obvious next choice for two way travel.

“We’ll monitor the situation as its occurring overseas in other countries,” he said.

“Obviously, Singapore would be a very good next step to build on what we have already achieved with New Zealand.”

But since then, Canberra has remained pretty preoccupied with the nation’s vaccine rollout.

While tourism into Singapore is down by 85 per cent, the country has gotten incentive with domestic travel options.

This includes cruises to nowhere – that’s right you hop on a cruise ship and only depart once docking back in Singapore.

But the question remains if and when two way travel with Australia will start.
