West Coast Eagles will be flying high after a big win over their cross-town rivals last week!

The West Coast Eagles come into Round 7 off a 41-point victory over the Fremantle Dockers in last week’s 45th Western Derby. The Eagles over-ran Fremantle from the get-go, recording a 36-point margin at quarter time. Josh Kennedy won the Ross Glendinning Medal for his efforts in the forward line, finishing the game with six goals, two behinds and 17 disposals. Andrew Gaff finished with a handy 34 disposals, while Matt Priddis, Chris Masten and Elliot Yeo all finished with 32 disposals.

Check out some Mark LeCras magic from last weekend with this incredible goal!

This week the Eagles travel to Adelaide Oval to take on Port Power. Surprisingly, West Coast have a fairly good track record at Adelaide Oval, which is not something many other visiting teams can claim. Port are the second highest scoring side this season, kicking and average of 117 points per game. Luckily for West Coast Eagles, their star forward Josh Kennedy has been in fine form in front of goals, Port’s defenders will have their hands full trying to keep Kennedy out of the game.

No changes have been made in the Eagles line-up this week. Port have made one change with the inclusion of Travis Boak for Karl Amon, who has been omitted. This is a big chance for both teams to show that they are top four contenders. West Coast are still trying to shake off their ‘flat-track bullies tag’ due to their issues performing away from home, so this will be the test!

I think this will be a great game to watch – both teams are fairly evenly matched at this point in the season. West Coast will have an advantage with their depth through the midfield I think, with the likes of Matt Priddis, Sam Mitchell and Andrew Gaff, so if they can win it out of the centre and transition the ball effectively into the forward line I think they will have Port covered.

I am tipping West Coast Eagles rise to the task at Adelaide Oval and beat Port Adelaide by 10 points.
