Get your heart racing when Australia’s outdoor karting experience, Stadium Karts, zooms into Optus Stadium for a limited time this January.

Established by former A1GP and V8 Supercar driver Christian Murchison in partnership with VenuesLive, the Stadium Karts track is custom-built and designed by people who know racing best.

“This is a pop-up experience, designed by experts, and sure to be an absolute thrill for anyone game enough to jump into a kart and give it a go,” Sport and Recreation Minister David Templeman said.

The 740-metre track will have racers zooming around a range of corners, from high-speed sweepers and hairpins to chicanes, at speeds of up to 70 km/h. It weaves through the Stadium Park east precinct — near the Perth Stadium train station — and stretches around gardens and under overpasses. Take the corners carefully, but put your lead foot to the test on the 150-metre straight that passes through four tunnels.

Unlike regular karting, sessions aren’t based on laps. But you can try to challenge yourself and complete more than the record 12 laps in the allocated time. Each session runs for roughly 20 minutes, with around 10 minutes of track time.

Drivers will race in the latest SODI RT8 Kart from SODIKARTS in France, easy for both new and experienced drivers to manoeuvre around the bends. Anyone aged 14 and older, and over 140cm, can race, making for a fun day out for the family.

Pricing

One drive starts at $59.00, with a small discount offered for packages of two or more drives. During off-peak times, prices start at just $39.00.

Stadium Karts runs from 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm Monday to Thursday and 10:00 am – 10:00 pm Friday to Sunday.
