West Coast Fever have stormed their way into the 2025 Suncorp Super Netball Grand Final after dismantling the NSW Swifts 77–45 in a commanding Major Semi Final win at RAC Arena.
From the opening whistle, Fever asserted control. A slick defensive effort from Kadie-Ann Dehaney and Sunday Aryang shut down the Swifts’ usually potent attack, with Aryang’s intensity forcing Helen Housby and Grace Nweke to scrap for every opportunity. Fever’s captain Jess Anstiss led by example in the middle, keeping the play composed and finding key connections with her attacking line.
By the first break, Fever already held a 20–11 lead. What came next was nothing short of a masterclass. Fever exploded in the second term, outscoring the Swifts 26–9 in a relentless 15-minute blitz. The defensive end continued to pick off intercepts and rebounds, while Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard was simply unstoppable in the shooting circle, pouring in 44 goals by half time. Jordan Cransberg added another highlight to her breakout season, picking up three crucial gains in the opening half.
The second half saw no let-up. Alice Teague-Neeld and Zoe Cransberg (her SSN Finals debut) both grabbed intercepts, while Aryang and Fran Williams made life near-impossible for the Swifts’ shooters. By three-quarter time, the result was all but settled at 63–35.
The final quarter gave Fever a chance to showcase their depth. Young shooter Olivia Wilkinson stepped up with four goals and a super shot in her first taste of finals netball, and Fowler-Nembhard finished the night with a staggering 65 goals at 98 per cent accuracy.
With the victory, West Coast Fever will now look ahead to the Grand Final at Rod Laver Arena on Saturday, August 2nd. Their opponent will be decided in next week’s Preliminary Final between the Swifts and Melbourne Vixens.
Fever members are set to receive ticketing information ahead of Monday’s pre-sale. For the team and fans alike, another shot at Super Netball’s biggest prize is now just one win away.
