It’s recently been proven that those that play golf live longer so I’m sure that would apply to mini golf too!

Mini golf has made a comeback recently with new courses opening up across Perth and there are a handful of locations in the Swan Valley you can test your putting skills on.

Vines Mini Golf

The newest addition to the Vines Resort is their mini golf course that has just opened in time for school holidays. Bordered by grape vines and using natural materials this course blends in perfectly with the Swan Valley.

The 18 holes wind around the central waterway with a red or blue course to follow so you can do a different path each time or for the little kids they can shoot to whichever hole their ball lands near.

We managed to avoid the waterways but did often end up in the sand traps and longer grass. Luckily they have scoops for those that do end up with a ball in the water! My 4-year-old had to redo the hole with the tunnels for the ball to go in multiple times to see where it would land. I got a hole in 1 on the first hole but then it was all downhill with my shots from there.

At the end take a photo on the winners podium with a 1st, 2nd and 3rd spot to stand then hit the cafe for a bite to eat and a cold drink.

The best bit about this course is that it is floodlit until 9pm so you can play after work or end your day there after spending some time in the Swan Valley. Being a new course there isn’t a lot of shade so pack water and a hat if you are going on a sunny day.

The Details

Open 7 days a week from 8am till 9pm. Adults $15, Children $10 or get a family pass for $39. For more information visit vinesminigolf.com.au

Swan Valley Oasis Resort – Adventure Putt Mini Golf and Supa Golf

The Swan Valley Oasis Resort at 10250 West Swan Road you can find Adventure Putt Mini Golf and Supa Golf.

Mini golf is 18 holes surrounded by lush gardens this is a more traditional mini golf course with astroturf, bordered by bricks and one course to take at each hole. Each hole is short and simple making it an easy course for younger ones to complete. There is quite a bit of shade around but in the midday sun it would be very warm on the course.

We have done this course multiple times as it’s in a great location between many of our favourite stops in the valley and has been easy for all of our children to have a go.

If you have older children you can also have a go at Supa Golf here. There is a lot of walking involved. You have a choice of 9 or 18 holes which is great as I don’t think even my 10 year old could make it around all 18 holes yet (9 holes is about a 900m walk). Everything is oversized at Supa Golf with a large headed club, larger balls and there are a range of par 3, 4 and 5 holes. They recommend bookings with the last tee off at 3pm for 18 holes and 4.30pm for 9 holes. They also have left and right handed clubs available.

There is a kiosk at the entrance to the golf courses to grab a bite or drink after you play plus a small playground. The Swan Valley Oasis Restaurant is also on site plus Mash Brewing near the entrance if you really work up a hunger.

The Details

Open 7 days a week from 9am weekdays and 8am weekends. Mini golf is $14 adults, $12 under 15s and $7.50 for under 4s. 9 holes of Supa Golf is $15.50 for adults, $13.50 for under 15s and $8 for under 5s. 18 hole Supa Golf is $22.50 adults, $20.50 for under 15s.
