Major internet fails that will soon become a thing of the past.

Perth internet is rather infuriating, and anyone who’s experienced some epic internet fails in their time can attest to that fact.

Maybe you’ve lagged in CoD and wound up dead, or your Netflix show is taking forever to buffer and you just want to know what happens next, or you freeze in the middle of an online interview pulling a slightly embarrassing expression.

With a world more online now than ever, there are bound to be a few bumps along the way as we navigate it all. But should there have to be?

Pentanet - best Internet provide in Perth

We’ve rounded up some of our all-time worst internet fail moments, and we’re going to tell you why Pentanet neXus can make these a thing of the past.

Netflix rage

It’s been a long day in the office. Like, a bottle of wine long day.

You’ve come home to a house that looks like a bomb just went off, you’ve just barely got through the nightly dinner rush and of course got stuck washing up after too, and now it’s just you and your TV. You’re finally ready to kick back on the couch and flick on your latest binge in your comfy pj’s with a glass of wine in hand (and a bottle just nearby).

Netflix is up. You scroll to continue watching, excited for the next hour and a half of no interruptions. You press play. It’s loading….and loading….and loading.

That’s the last straw.

Your Netflix show is stuck on 90%, and it’s been longer than 10 seconds. You see RED. That scream you’ve been holding in all day? It’s out now.

First world problems

Harry Styles is coming to Australia, and you’re fangirling hard.

This is the moment you’ve been waiting two years for, and you’re in charge of getting front row tickets for you and your friends (no pressure).

The pre-sale is about to start, and the queue opens right at 12:30. You’re in without a second to spare- this isn’t your first rodeo.

The minutes tick by slowly, and then it’s time. Your fingers fly as you go straight to the best tickets and add three to the cart, holding your breath as the loading bar turns to a tick- they’re available. You click into the checkout while squealing, ready to score those VIP seats. Then the internet decides not to work.

The screen freezes. You stare in disbelief. You start smashing the mouse and keyboard, screaming at this stupid thing to not fail you now. When it comes back to life, the tickets are gone.

Job interview fail

It’s your big moment, your time to shine- you’ve scored that interview for your dream job. It’s online, so you’ve whisked the kids into the other room with a bag of snacks and locked yourself in the office for no distractions.

Palms sweaty, you log on to Zoom and wait. It starts off without a hitch; you ace the ‘tell me about yourself’ spiel and fly through the ‘why do you want this role’ speech you rehearsed.

You’re halfway through describing why you’d be the perfect fit with a long list of qualifications, when your internet fails, turning you into some sort of disembodied robotic voice.

The interviewer looks at you funny, and you try to subtly bang the side of your laptop in hopes it will magically restore. Then everything cuts out, and the video boxes go black. Your hours of practice are cut short, and you’re now debating if you should throw your laptop out the window.

Fatal freeze

You’ve settled in for the evening and you’re having a blast on your favourite video game with your mates. Never has a team looked so good- you’re unstoppable, winning at every corner, taking down all enemies.

It’s down to the wire on the final shootout. You’re yelling instructions to your teammates and furiously pressing the controller buttons. Suddenly, your screen glitches, and you’re frozen. You shake the screen in desperation. This can’t be happening.

It comes back to life, and you’re dead.

The controller may or may not be thrown across the room as profanities are used.

Edge of your seat

You’re about 6 episodes deep in a binge session that’s seen you go through two packets of chips and one bar of chocolate- hey, we’ve all been there.

It’s the season finale and something HUGE is about to happen. You can hardly contain yourself. The chip packet is put to the side, and you’re dragging yourself to the edge of the bed ready to finally find out what all those hours of season watching are about to lead up to. Then it pauses and starts buffering.

Chips are thrown, screams are probably scaring the neighbours and the TV remote is about to be snapped in half.

Exam panic

It’s your big exam at the end of the semester, and you’ve become a hermit for the last week locked away in your room studying.

The exam is online, so you log on and get ready to ace it. You’re halfway through and absolutely nailing it, and you go to click save on your current answer. It won’t save- that’s weird. You try to click through, only to be told you’ve been disconnected.

You start to panic. You click the mouse like a madman. All your answers are gone and the timer is ticking away on the submission time. Cue tears and hyperventilating.

The Solution? Pentanet neXus

If there was a way to make all these internet fails a thing of the past, you’d do it, right?

Well, enter Pentanet neXus.

For those who don’t already know, Pentanet is a Perth-based Telco company passionate about superfast internet solutions and innovations to level up your connection.

Pentanet neXus is the next generation of fixed wireless internet. It’s a community-powered wireless network that utilises cutting-edge mesh technology to bring the future of internet connectivity to Perth. Essentially, it’s smarter, better, faster, and more connected than other traditional networks.

And how fast are we talking? Over 10x faster than the average Australian Fixed Broadband connection. That means minimal lag, minimal freezing, and no more hair-pulling internet fails.

Traditional fixed-line networks like the nbn™ can get majorly congested and cause super slow internet. Think of it like a digital freeway – when people get home from work, turn on Netflix etc, and are all trying to access large amounts of data on the network, it can cause congestion. This congestion results in slower internet speeds and bad internet fails like the ones above.

Pentanet neXus is the helicopter that flies over all the ‘road traffic’, escaping most of the congestion. Your packets of data basically ‘fly’ straight from a tower to a dish on your roof, completely independent from the nbn™.

It works by creating a sort of ‘mesh’ network over the city, meaning that the network gets stronger and more reliable as more people join up, as opposed to a fixed wireless network with just one tower feeding internet to hundreds of homes while requiring an uninterrupted line of sight between that tower and all connected premises.

Peak hour congestion becomes almost non-existent, and you’ll be left with fast, stable internet delivered over a gigabit connection.
