Kyle Chalmers will race for gold in the Tokyo Olympics Men’s 100m Freestyle Final – here’s the start time, how to watch and who’s racing.
The main event for many on the swimming calendar is the Men’s 100m Freestyle and this Olympics is no different with the Australian ‘BEAST’ Kyle Chalmers going up against USA powerhouse Caeleb Dressel.
Dressel is going in as one of the favourites for the Tokyo Olympics Men’s 100m Freestyle Final having won in the World Championships in 2019 and having placed the second-fastest qualifying time in the heats with 47.23sec.
Kyle Chalmers on the other hand is the defending Olympic champion winning in Rio de Janeiro with a time of 47.58sec, however, he lost to Dressel in the World Championships by 0.12 of a second.
What will have the competition for the Tokyo Olympics Men’s 100m Freestyle Final worried is the ‘BEAST’ like performance Chalmers put in for Australia in the Men’s 4 x 100m Freestyle – taking Australia from 6th to 3rd with a ridiculous swim of 46.44 – the fifth-fastest 100m relay split swim in relay history – fifth-fastest relay split of all-time and sitting within the times that were set in now-banned ‘supersuits’.
Now that’s a superhuman effort.
