You might not need to Uber home on New Year’s thanks to Transperth.
On New Year’s Eve Transperth has scheduled 113 extra train rides, 117 more bus trips and additional ferry services to run after midnight – allowing you to easily take in New Year’s Eve fireworks and catch up with friends and family.
This will give new years punters across Perth access to free and frequent public transport after midnight. Allowing many people to avoid having to pay the excessive taxi and Uber rates to get to and from new year’s eve events.
Transport Minister Rita Saffioti said about 290 transit officers would be rostered on and more police would patrol stations.
