Bottomless Pinot Noir? Only When It Pours at Ampersand Estates

In a delicious twist on the winter getaway, Ampersand Estates is inviting guests to toast to the rain, with bottomless wine, poured only when the heavens open.

Rainy days away just got a serious upgrade.

Ampersand Estates, a luxury accommodation and winery nestled in the heart of Pemberton, has launched a winter-long initiative that rewards rainfall with bottomless pours of wine. If you’re staying on the estate and it starts to drizzle, your glass won’t go empty.

With the South West forecast showing rain this week, and Pemberton averaging more than 50 rainy winter days, the odds are decidedly in your favour. The offer runs from July to September, and applies exclusively to guests staying on the estate during rainfall.

It’s a perfectly indulgent pairing for the season, especially when the featured drop is the 2022 Ampersand Estates Pinot Noir, which just took out WA’s Favourite Wine at the inaugural Top Up Wine Awards.

The estate is made up of three stunning accommodation options: The Homestead, located riverside with five king bedrooms and ensuites; The Vintner’s Residence, a hilltop retreat with sweeping vineyard views; and The Settler’s Cottage, an intimate two-bedroom space beside the cellar door. Each is thoughtfully appointed, with crackling fireplaces, premium furnishings, and even a barista-grade coffee machine for foggy mornings.

“Winter is one of the most magical times here at Ampersand Estates,” says owner Corrie Scheepers. “Everything is so lush and mist creeps through the surrounding valleys and off the Donnelly River. It adds such an enchanted feeling.”

“We have just launched our new website, which includes a link to the latest rain predictions,” he added. “When it rains, we pour.”

Of course, winter in the Southern Forests also brings truffle hunting season, making this the perfect moment to explore Pemberton’s lush, rain-drenched beauty, with a glass (or several) in hand.
