Sundays are sacred. A chance to move at your own pace, reset the system, and squeeze in a little joy before Monday comes knocking.
Whether that means slow starts and long brunches, coastal walks and cold plunges, or boutique shopping followed by a round of beers, the City of Stirling has everything you need for a stellar Sunday.
From Scarborough’s breezy esplanade to Karrinyup’s West Deck precinct, this pocket of Perth is made for choose-your-own-adventure Sundays, and we’ve mapped out exactly how to make the most of it.
Ease into it

Start your Sunday strong (or slow) with a lap around Lake Gwelup Story Trail. A peaceful bushland loop where native birds, wetland views and Whadjuk Noongar storytelling installations make for a more meaningful morning walk.
Fancy something a little more leisurely? Hit the driving range at Hamersley Public Golf Course. It’s suitable for all levels of golfers from ‘I’ve never swung a golf club before’ to budding PGA Pro. The whole experience has also been gamified to add a little extra fun and competition to it. Add in the convenience of food and drinks delivered to your bay from Caddys, and it makes for the perfect Sunday activity with a group of friends.
For those seeking a little sunshine with a side of exercise and coastal views, the salty, windswept Sunset Coast Walk starts in Scarborough and hugs the Indian Ocean up the Sunset Coast.
Fuel for the day

We all know brunch is a big deal in Perth, and some of the best brekky dishes can be found right here in the City of Stirling. Little Bay in Watermans Bay has everything you need for a meal before midday: potent coffee, a concise menu of elevated classics (sweet, savoury, health-conscious, and indulgent all covered) and picture-perfect interiors that look like they’ve been plucked straight from the Hamptons.
A little later in the day, St Brigid Bar is Doubleview’s beloved neighbourhood bar slinging creative cocktails, plenty of vino, and a range of tasty plates (think bar snacks like adult chicken nuggets and prawn dumplings and more substantial mains like beef burgers and rib eye steaks).
And if you’ve got room for a sunset sip, swing by Froth Craft Beach in North Beach (along the Coast road), the casual taproom pouring local brews just moments from the waves. With rotating beers, live tunes, and buzzing crowds of thirsty surfers, it’s the ideal setting for an easygoing Sunday session.
Scarborough’s still got it

A Sunday wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Scarborough Beach. Consistently ranked amongst the country’s best, the oceanside esplanade precinct is always heaving (even when the swell isn’t). We don’t need to remind you of the near-empty stretches of squeaky white sand, top-tier surfing breaks, or impossibly blue water, but there’s a whole lot more happening beyond the beach.
The esplanade is a playground for all ages, with a rock climbing wall, skate bowl, basketball court, and epic whale playground that we all wish was around when we were kids.
The sun-soaked spot also doubles as a wellness haven, home to outdoor pilates, surf lessons, and saunas by the sea. Get bendy at The Hundred Pilates Collective, book in with Go Surf or the Scarborough Beach Surf School to finally tick ‘learn to surf’ off the bucket list, or commit to contrast therapy by following a steamy Alchemy Saunas session with an ice shower, or head to the ocean for a quick dip.
Tunes, treats, and twilight markets

Markets and music aren’t just reserved for Sundays in the City of Stirling. Every Saturday throughout winter, the cold-climate edition of the Scarborough Sunset Markets transforms the foreshore into a fire-lit melting pot of global street eats, local makers, and mulled wine.
Further inland, Astor Theatre in Mount Lawley holds down the fort for live shows and music, just as it has done for over 80 years. The calendar’s always chockers with everything from cult films to international acts gracing the stage, so check out what’s on at this art-deco institution and make a night of it.
Wrap it up in style

To round out your day, Karrinyup Shopping Centre’s West Deck is where rooftop cocktails, delicious dining, boutique retail therapy, and good old-fashioned arcade fun come together in one super-stylish spot.
Challenge your mates (or your date) to mini golf, try your hand at bowling, or belt out some bangers at karaoke.
Finally, finish the afternoon with a spritz and spaghetti at Ciao Dandy or settle in for a pizza and pint at Good Company, and suddenly Sunday scaries are a thing of the past.
