The Lodge Wadjemup has unveiled its Poolhouse rooms and guest pool precinct, marking the final stage of the property’s multi-phase transformation. Nestled on the northern edge of the grounds beside Garden Lake, the new rooms add another 46 contemporary spaces to the hotel’s footprint, taking the total room count to 109.
It will come as welcome news for people heading over to Rottnest, who’ve long wanted more premium accommodation options on the island. Designed by a collective of West Australian families, including hospitality heavyweight Peter Fogarty and with interiors led by his daughter Anna, the Poolhouse precinct pairs sustainable, tactile materials with the kind of effortless coastal elegance you come to Wadjemup for.
Think king beds, fully appointed ensuites (some with freestanding bathtubs), natural textures, and clever interconnecting layouts, all with either pool, lake, or island views.
The precinct’s centrepiece is the newly built guest pool area, featuring a sleek 12-metre heated adult pool and a dedicated five-metre kids pool, surrounded by breezy walkways and an inviting open-air atmosphere.

The Poolhouse opening follows the successful relaunch of The Lodge’s refurbished Courtyard and Lake Rooms in January, and builds on a string of accolades, including being the only Australian hotel to earn a spot on TIME’s ‘World’s Greatest Places 2025’ list.
