The Space
Okay, our jaw actually dropped when we saw the outdoor entertainment area. Resembling some kind of jungle escape, it featured an outdoor Jacuzzi, kitchen, barbecue and a double-sided fireplace.
There’s plenty to do in the way of outdoor activities with a swing set, trampoline and zip line (not for the faint-hearted) included. If that’s not your style, you can take a stroll through the local bushland and follow a trail to a small pond and seasonal stream- the perfect spot to perch up with a book and picnic.
You’ll be spoilt for choice with Sandalfords, Lamont’s, Houghtons, Upper Reach and local breweries such as Feral and Mash right on your doorstep. It’s also driving distance from John Forrest National Park, Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm, Margaret River Chocolate Factory and Bells Rapids. Basically, the only problem you’ll encounter is what to do first.
You get the entire place to yourself so you can take a fun family vacation or leave the kids at home and enjoy a relaxing girl’s trip completed with lots of wine.

Visit some Wineries and Breweries
Considering Swan Valley is Perth’s oldest wine-growing region, it would be rude not to take a little tour of all the glorious wineries and breweries in its midst.
Their fortified wines such as Shiraz and Verdelho are a must-try in this region, and they’ve also got plenty of organic, French and Italian-inspired wines.
Home to over 40 wineries, 11 boutique breweries and 5 distilleries it can be a little overwhelming to choose.
Some of our favourites? If it’s wine you’re after, you can’t leave without visiting the likes of Sandalford, Oakover Grounds, Upper Reach Winery and Sittella. On the brewery side of things, Feral, The Henley Brook, Funk, Ironbark and Homestead Brewery are our pick of the lot.

Caversham Wildlife Park will be enjoyed by adults and kids alike. They’ve got native animals of all shapes and sizes that you can get up close and personal with. Meet some wombats, touch some lizards or get your photo taken with some totally adorable koalas.

The scenery in Swan Valley is nothing short of incredible, and after some days spent stuffing yourself with wine and chocolate you can walk it off on one of the various walking trails.
