New TRIBE Hotel Perth

A new hotel in opening in Perth, a TRIBE Hotel near Kings Park

The TRIBE Hotel Perth opens in Western Perth.

A new brand of hotel, TRIBE, is opening it’s doors in West Perth. The hotel is designed for travellers looking for competitively price, low fuss urban accommodation.

In 2015, TRIBE founder Mark Peters said his vision was to create an entirely new category of design hotels in Australia, with the view to expand globally.

“The contemporary traveller no longer checks in to a hotel, they check in to a destination, that’s why when we created TRIBE we re-evaluated the hotel model to prioritise the benefits they would want,” he said.

The TRIBE Hotel Perth will do just that.

“We’ve focused on what matters, so that we don’t pass on costs to our guests for the things that don’t, by paring back and refining our offering and using cost effective and smart modular construction we’re able to share significant savings with our guests, making TRIBE an aspirational space at an accessible price.”

Located next to Kings Park, TRIBE Perth features 126 -rooms, designed for WiFi hungry, tech-savvy travellers in mind.

The hotel comes with free broadband, smart TVs, a digital reading collection, and free streaming movies on demand. The hotel will also include large common areas that reflect homely living rooms and a café and bar, TRIBE Foods.

The Tribe Hotel Group will build a brand with contemporary modular designs and efficient construction methodology, comprising pre-fabricated guest rooms with sophisticated essentials for the modern traveller. It’s almost the Ikea of new hotels.

Everything above the 2nd floor has been constructed in southern China and shipped to Perth for fitting. The project cost around $30 million.

Modular hotels are common in Western Europe, however, this is somewhat of a first for Australia, particularly for Western Australia.

“At the end of the day people are chasing a good room rate and a quality product. If it is offering that, they couldn’t care less how it is constructed,” Peters told the AFR in 2015.

Expansion plans are already underway with new TRIBE hotel sites acquired in Adelaide, Hobart and Melbourne, and intentions to expand internationally over the next 10 years.
