Perth wins the battle to host UFC 251.

In what will be a tourism windfall for Tourism Western Australia, Perth has won the right to host UFC 251 – putting Perth at the forefront of over 50 million UFC fans worldwide.

For the first time since 2018, the UFC is making its highly anticipated return to Perth at the RAC Arena, on Sunday, June 7th.

UFC 251 at RAC Arena in Perth will be a co-main event with Women’s flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko will take on Joanne Calderwood. Another headline matchup will be added in the coming weeks.

Reports are speculating though that Australia’s recently crowned featherweight world champion Alexander Volkanovski is the favourite co-headline with a rematch against Max Holloway suggested. This will also make the second time Volkanovski has battled inside the Octagon in Perth.

UFC 251 Details

UFC 221 Recap

The last time the Octagon visited Perth, it was for the memorable UFC 221.

The main event between Luke Rockhold and Yoel Romero, the “Soldier of God” delivered one of the most devastating knockouts of his decorated career, starching Rockhold in the third round. The crowd inside the arena also witnessed dominant victories from (current featherweight champion) Alexander Volkanovski as well as Tyson Pedro and Tai Tuivasa. On top of that, the event marked the debut of middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, who picked up a performance bonus for his second-round finish.
