Ischia Restaurant
Printed on the Ischia menu is a line that translates to: where you eat, drink, and whistle. Read the rest of the menu, and you’ll see they meant it. Close to 30 pizzas and a dozen pastas are the drawcards that bring you in and keep you coming back.
The Regina ($28.00) is buffalo mozzarella and basil, which leaves the base nowhere to hide in a kitchen that won Best Pizza Metro at the 2025 Gold Plate Awards. If you want heat, the Diavola ($29.00) is a top pick for the chilli lover. Something a little bit more gourmet? Try the Tartufo ($33.00), which is a different thing entirely: truffle cream, porcini, and pancetta.
If you are more pasta than pizza, go for the gnocchi Sorrentina ($30.00). It’s house-made, and there’s a gorgonzola and pine nut version ($33.00). The pappardelle ragù ($34.00) is fresh egg pasta with brisket cooked down for 12 hours. For something lighter, the linguine al granchio blu ($39.00) is blue crab with chilli and cherry tomatoes.
The wine list is mostly Italian, with a few Western Australian and South Australian bottles alongside. Barolo and Brunello sit at the top end, but the better drinking is in Abruzzo, Puglia, and Sardinia. Our white of choice is the Soave Classico ($85.00, bottle only). For red, the Montepulciano ($14.00 by the glass or $55.00 for the bottle), and it is also fun to say. Or bring your own for $12.00 corkage.
For those who plan on coming back again and again, the Ischia loyalty program runs on hugs. Every $20.00 spent earns one, each hug is $1.00 off the next bill, and Mondays are double.
