Premier Mark McGowan has announced the WA COVID-19 Phase 5 plan will be delayed a further 2 weeks.
Today Western Australia Premier Mark McGowan announced the COVID-19 Phase 5 plan will be delayed until August 29th.
“I’m sure this won’t come as much of a surprise, but we’ve delayed the tentative start date for Phase 5 by at least a further two weeks.”
Phase 5 was set to begin on August 15th, however, due to the continuing outbreak of cases in Victoria, Phase 5 has again been delayed.
Phase 5 would have seen remaining restrictions removed, except WA’s hard border and access to remote Aboriginal communities.
It would have seen the removal of WA’s 2sqm rule and the 50% capacity for our major venues.
Whether WA COVID-19 Phase 5 plan starts on August 29th will be determined in the week leading up to the date and pending health advice.
