As West Coast heads toward 60,000 members in 2015, it’s all eyes on #AFLEaglesCats this weekend. The Eagles players will wear in a unique jersey celebrating Indigenous Round.

Emma Payne previews the game for TweetPerth.

West Coast Eagles have a big task ahead of them this weekend when they play Geelong at Domain Stadium this Sunday at 2:40pm. West Coast have won their last 5 games in a row and despite the club being riddled with injuries, they have still managed to make an impressive impact on the competition this season.

Their 10 point win over Port Adelaide has debatably been their best win of the season and I think Eagles will come out fighting against the Cats to make it 6 wins in a row.

With Elliot Yeo out this week after being suspended for striking St Kilda’s Jimmy Webster last week, I think we will see Luke Shuey taking charge of the midfield with the help of Matt Priddis and Sharrod Wellingham, who seems to have bounced into form in the last few weeks.

Pat McGinnity seems like the best suited replacement for Yeo with the two sharing similar playing styles on the field. Even though Geelong have won 9 of the last 11 contests against the Eagles, West Coast are the number one scoring team this season averaging a hefty 110 points a game.

Josh Kennedy has been making a huge impact on the scoreboard and he is one player that the Cats are going to need address in a serious way. In saying that- Geelong’s Tom Hawkins is also in impressive form and West Coast will need to stretch their defence to ensure Hawkins and Mitch Clarke don’t get too much of the ball inside 50.

I think if the Eagles can ensure that they win the ball from the centre with Nic Natanui in ruck, they should be able to efficiently work the ball into their forward line. My tip is that West Coast will get the win by 20 points.

Talking points:

ï‚· West Coast are on track to finish in the top 4 this season
ï‚· Pat McGinnity would be the ideal replacement for Yeo
ï‚· The next month will define West Coasts 2015 season
