There are flood warnings for Perth and surrounding areas as wet weather continues
There are flood warnings for Perth and surrounds, with dangerous flooding in parts of the wheatbelt east of Perth ongoing.
It comes as the bizarre February of rain continues in Perth, with the city recording near all time rain highs for Summer.
Saturday, Sunday and Monday will all be wet days for the city. The record for Summer rain in Perth is on track to be broken.
Flooding in Perth and Surrounds
There are flood warnings for the Swan River upstream of Walyunga and the Avon river area, including Northham and Toodyay.
There are also warnings for waterside areas close the the Perth CBD.
Swan River:
Flood warnings for Perth. The BOM says minor flooding will continue in the Swan River during Saturday into Sunday.
“The Swan River at Barrack Street Jetty is currently at 0.73 metres and steady. The Swan River at Barrack Street Jetty may reach the minor flood level (1.60 m) overnight Saturday into Sunday”

Avon River:
Significant river rises and areas of major flooding are being observed in the Avon River catchment. River level rises and areas of major flooding are expected to continue in the Avon River catchment during Saturday into Sunday.
Major flooding is occurring in the Avon River at Stirling Tce Toodyay and Mortlock River East at O’Driscolls Farm.
Moderate flooding is likely along the Avon River to Beverley.
Minor flooding is expected along the Avon River from Beverley to Northam.
