Big man Nate Jawai will miss Wednesday night’s game against Townsville due to injury

Perth Wildcats recently welcomed back captain Damian Martin and star import Casey Prather, both also missing games due to injury. They couldn’t have returned at a better time as their big centre Nate Jawai has not travelled to Townsville with the team for Wednesday’s game, due to a quad injury that he received in round three.

Jawai has pushed through the pain in recent weeks however the Cats decided to play it safe and rest him up for the game. He is expected to play in Friday night’s match on home soil against the Crocs so hopefully the time off the court will reduce his injury worries.

Despite a narrow loss to the Crocs in their last meeting, the Wildcats will come in to Wednesday night’s game fresh off a victory over the Illawarra Hawks and will be looking to solidify their strong start to the season and maintain their spot in the top two.

The Cats have played strong interior defence all season and are currently leading the NBL in rebounds with 43 per game.

The Wildcats take on the Townsville Crocodiles on Wednesday night at the Townsville Entertainment Centre. Show your support @PerthWildcats #RedArmy
