World Trade Center Perth – Proposed Towers to change Perth CBD

An announcement has been made today, outlining a proposed ‘World Trade Centre Perth’ development that will transform Perth City.

The proposal could see ‘twin towers’ built in Perth over the train line near McIver station for mixed commercial, retail and residential use.

World Trade Center Perth will be part of a member of the over 330 World Trade Centers across 91 countries.

The towers were first proposed in 2016, backed by investment from the Middle East.

The $1.85 billion project will still need approvals by local authorities. The development would sit between Perth and McIver train stations in the Perth City/East Perth area.

“World Trade Centre Perth is proposing a development that will involve an iconic architectural design to showcase Western Australian capabilities and commercial opportunities, connecting Perth to 327 World Trade Centre locations around the globe,” Colin Barnett said.

“That a developer is willing to make this investment demonstrates strong confidence in the future of Perth and has the ability to stimulate diverse trade and investment opportunities for the State.”

The $1.85 billion World Trade Centre Perth proposal involves the construction of two ‘twin towers’ – 36 and 75 floors high.

The twin towers of World Trade Center Perth will be home to commercial, retail, residential and recreational facilities and build above the train line in the CBD area close to East Perth, the announcement said.
