#AFLGiantsFreo: Can the Fremantle Dockers Slay The Giants?

I don’t need my spidey sense to tell me that it’s going to be a tough week for the young Fremantle Dockers this week…

Although, the last time I predicted a rough day out for Freo, they almost beat Geelong in Geelong! We never really know what we are going to get this season! Unfortunately, the Fremantle Dockers come into this round off the back of a fair hiding last week, going down to Hawthorn by 52 points in front of the Freo faithful at Domain Stadium. Not only did the Dockers lose the game, they lost one of their best contributors this season, with Michael Walters devastatingly ending his season with a knee injury.

Walters wasn’t the only casualty to come out of the game. Lee Spurr will miss at least the next three weeks with a calf injury. Coach Ross Lyon has made a couple of changes to the squad to face the GWS Giants this week at Spotless Stadium. Ryan Nyhuis and Josh Deluca have both been omitted, they join Danyle Pearce as emergencies.

Brady Grey comes back into the squad this week along with Darcy Tucker, Brennan Cox and Luke Ryan. I don’t want to question the decisions of ‘Ross the Boss’ however, with Fremantle’s current forward line issues, I was a little bit surprised that Matt Taberner has again missed out on getting the call up… #JustSaying

The Giants have made quite a few changes to their round 19 squad, which could possibly be beneficial to the Dockers. The feisty Toby Greene is out again due to suspension, Stevie Johnson is out with a knee injury, big Shane Mumford is out with an ankle injury and ex-Docker Tendai Mzungu has been omitted.

Jeremy Cameron, Stephen Coniglio, Dawson Simpson and ex-Docker Matt de Boer come in to the 25-man squad. GWS have surprisingly won just one game out of their last six, they will be looking to get themselves back on the winners list with a strong performance over Freo this weekend.

As much as it kills me, I have to tip with my head instead of my heart this week. I’m tipping the GWS Giants to beat the Fremantle Dockers by 25 points. If the Dockers are competitive, and don’t lose by 100+ points, I will be happy!
