MICHAEL WALTERS IS BACK! Can you tell I’m excited?
The Fremantle Dockers come into round nine after a much-needed win last week over St Kilda at Optus Stadium. Brandon Matera and Adam Cerra finished with two goals each and Nat Fyfe was again outstanding with 36 disposals and a goal. Ed Langdon and Lachie Neale were also impressive, both finishing with 30+ disposals.
This week the Dockers take on the Sydney Swans at the SCG. Not gonna lie, it’s going to be a tough one! Mainly because Buddy Franklin has been named in the side, returning from injury. Dan Hannebery has also been included, and they both come in for Daniel Robinson and Dean Towers who have been omitted. The Swans will be in high spirits after securing an win over the Hawks last week and I think they will come into this game with confidence.
A couple of big (and important) names have returned for the Fremantle Dockers this week!! Michael Walters and Nathan Wilson. Walters returns from a knee injury and Wilson from back soreness. Walters has been one of Freo’s brightest sparks in recent times, especially when it comes to goal scoring. Wilson has also played a huge part in Freo’s back line since arriving from GWS and we are going to need all the help we can get in that area to face the Swans this week. Walters and Wilson come into the side for Danyle Pearce and Taylin Duman who have both been omitted.
The Sydney Swans have a very good record against the Fremantle Dockers and with Buddy Franklin back in the side their fire power in front of goals will be at their brilliant best. HOWEVER, let’s not underestimate Freo’s Alex Pearce. He has knocked a few big-name forwards down a peg or two already this season so maybe ‘Buddy’ will be the next name on his list. Fingers crossed!
I’m tipping the Sydney Swans to beat the Fremantle Dockers by 20 points.
