Message from QuizJam CEO – Joel Steel
My cousin Grace who has only recently turned 6 years old has been fighting Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia for most of her life but about 6 months ago was given the all-clear from the docs.
It was with great sadness that we recently learnt she had relapsed and it is now much worse than ever before. The cancerous cells have now spread through her bone marrow and she also has a 15cm tumour between her bladder and abdominal wall.
I have 7-year-old twin girls and a 2-year-old boy and I can’t even try and imagine what my aunty Catherine (her mum) is going through right now and I want to do anything I can to help them!
Unfortunately, the only thing I can do is help support them financially as the family is already struggling to make ends meet with Catherine not being able to work and things are much worse now with the ongoing treatment and the need to find expert help outside of the country!
I have thought of an idea which will hopefully help raise some substantial money to support Grace finding and receiving the best possible treatment so she can grow old and experience the life she deserves!
The QuizJam team will be running the HBF run for a reason (12km, we have all never run that far before) and we are willing to do it in any costumes required in order to draw as much attention to ourselves as possible, make us look as silly as possible and hopefully raise as much money as possible.
