Tweet Perth teams up with Dogs’ Refuge Home for #DogsofPerth.

Today was my second visit to the Dogs Refuge home to meet and greet three more fury friends – Freckles, Monty and Ringo as part of #DogsofPerth. All three dogs were incredibly friendly, playful and would make a great addition to a family.

I got to experience a bush walk with Freckles and see first hand this energetic boy’s playful nature and love of new friends. I then spent time with Monty, this young man had run of the pen and was happy to meet and greet before leaving for his morning walk. And finally Ringo the gentle giant who was more than willing to give lots of cuddles and show off just how clever he is, with his ambidextrous hand shaking ability!

Meet Freckles, Monty and Ringo and check out their profiles below, along with additional photo and video evidence of our play time.

Freckles

Freckles is a spunky young boy full of puppy love and joy! Unfortunately Freckles had a very poor upbringing and spent a lot of his young life living alone in the backyard with very little interaction or exercise. As a result Freckles sometimes gets a little over excited when saying hello and playing. Training will be a high priority for his new owners and should be incorporated into his daily routine. With some patience and TLC (and a sense of humour!) Freckles will be a wonderful companion. Adopt Freckles

Monty

Monty is a 2 year old Staff Staffy X Mastiff who is very sweet and a social boy. He can be shy with new people but warms to you very quickly. Once he is familiar with you he does become a funny clown who will jump up on you, this will subside commitment to training. He can be excitable and is a very playful fella. Monty will need some guidance and training from his new owners where he is sure to progress into an awesome family dog. Such a cool Dude!. Adopt Monty

 Ringo

Ringo is a 4 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Definitey one of the staff favourites, Ringo is a gorgeous boy looking for a home that can deal with a whole lotta love.  This big boy needs a family that can give him some guidance and who are able to manage his strength and need for kisses and cuddles. With a bit of TLC, Ringo will make a great addition to any family. Adopt Ringo

With around 100 beautiful four legged friends in our care at any one time, chances are your next addition to the family is waiting patiently for you. And with so many abandoned dogs desperate for a second chance at a happy life, consider visiting us before you go to a pet shop or breeder.

If you love dogs then please help us. Take advantage of our dog and puppy training classes; use our boarding services; consider giving a donation or buy some merchandise at our online store. We can’t thank you enough for caring!

How to Adopt?

Before offering our dogs for adoption we undertake thorough veterinary and behavioural assessments. All new arrivals are vaccinated, microchipped, de-wormed and sterilised as part of the placement process and every individual animal in our care aged over 16 weeks receives basic obedience training. Any dogs who arrive with behavioural problems also receive remedial training before being re-homed.

We charge a basic fee of $425 for adult dogs we place with new families ($530 for puppies under 6 months old). This cost goes towards covering some of the veterinary, training and food expenses incurred in rescuing and re-homing the individual pet. Invariably our costs exceed this amount considerably, however, we believe every one of our dogs is worth every cent we invest in them. Our long-termers are available for a special fee of $320, which includes four one-on-one training sessions with one of our trainers Read More
