Time and time again one of the most frequently asked food questions I hear people ask is “where can I get the best burger in Perth?”.

Perth has come a long way in Burgerland since the days of “Hamburger Hill” and “Alfred’s Kitchen” being the go to choices for a decent burger. Alfred’s remains strong however lets look at some 2015 players that offer a fantastic choice to chow down on.
1. Varsity Bar, Nedlands
Need anymore be said? Boom. American style burgers in a typically American style sports bar – think pitchers of Bud, NBA, NFL, Ice Hockey and some items on the menu to leave the greediest food hunters stuffed.
2. Brooklyn Lounge, Claremont
Got Pork? Like pork. The pulled Pork Burger from Brooklyn. Adjacent to Claremont Quarter, one for the Hip Hop Heads – great attitude from the staff, strong and reasonably priced cocktails and a funk de la funk hip hop soundtrack to match. Cool to see a varied demographic getting on down.
3. Novembar’s, Dianella
This is Minh Van. He owns Novembars – and if you have been you will know what a character he is. This is an Anaconda Burger, a ‘small’ size in contrast to what he can produce. $20 and will give you enough calories for a few meals. Talking best burgers in Perth? Try the biggest – and they are delicious.
4. Johnny’s Burgers, Canning Vale
Johnny is a local legend out in ‘the Vale. When it comes to the best burgers in Perth, the trip out to Canning Vale is well worth it. His Mum had a shop in the centre and he started doing burgers that were so good, the queue would go back an incredible distance. Now branching out in his own (big) store outside the shopping centre, you can be sure you are going to be rewarded with freshly made “down and dirty” American style burgers. Johnny says “I was sick of the trend a few years back with all these healthy, gluten free burgers and was aiming to target the people that just want a real greasy, big, pig out burger!”
Pictured is “The Cure”. 200g of bacon infused beef patty’s with – bacon and onion rings and a special sauce. Apparently it cures hunger, bacon addiction and hangovers.
