Subiaco local Lulu La Delizia has been named Western Australia’s best restaurant in the annual Gourmet Traveller awards, which will come as no surprise to Perth foodies in the know.

Since opening its doors in 2016, the Italian gem has had us all firmly in its grasp with a refined menu of comforting bites, smooth wines, and silky pasta plates drawing inspiration from the flavours of northern Italy.

The Gourmet Traveller awards bring some of the country’s leading chefs and restaurant personalities together to highlight the best of the best, and this year’s event saw big names like Neil Perry, Shannon Martinez, Ben Shewry, Brigitte Haffner, and Andrew McConnell among the attendees.

South Australia’s Restaurant Botanic took out the top honour, with chef Justin James accepting the glittering award for Restaurant of The Year and the state prize.
